With its premier on Wednesday, 2 October at 9:30pm CAT, the series will conclude after 9 weeks with a one –hour long LIVE finale on 27 November 2013.

In the first episode, the contestants and viewers will be introduced to two high profile industry experts who will be mentoring the contestants throughout the competition. ‘Top Trader 2013’ is bigger and better than the previous year. The drama and conflict between the differing personalities is amped up a notch in true reality style to attract an entirely new audience to CNBC Africa. This season is not only fun to watch, but also highly informative. The contestants will learn about different elements of trading which include risk analysis, technical analysis and more.  The competition is all about trading shares on the JSE Top 100, and the contestants will each have to manage a R1,000,000 virtual portfolio.

Contestants range in age from 19 to 41. They are: Mbuso Mehlomakulu; Tsholofelo Mojakgotle; Jason Goldstein; Johannes Malan; Xolile Mnisi; Ori Shushan; Colbert Chipotereke; Pule Moabi. Find out more about the contestants, the mentors and behind the scenes moments, by visiting the Top Trader website www.toptrader.tv . The interactive element will be much stronger this year. The Mentor lectures will be short inserts in the on air episodes, but the full lectures will be posted on the website. So if you want to learn about the markets and get the same information as the Contestants, this is your opportunity.
