Pearl Thusi bids farewell to RGB

Posted by radio On October - 18 - 2013

After an exciting, whirlwind experience hosting Mzansi’s highest rated lifestyle and entertainment Saturday show – RGB – to an average of 5.6 million viewers, Mzansi’s media darling Pearl Thusi has decided to say farewell to the much-loved show.

“I absolutely loved my time on RGB.  I have had an incredible journey and everyone at the show has been amazingly supportive with my decision to move on.  I am not saying goodbye, just see you soon.  I have so many great things going on at the moment that I had to make a tough decision on what to focus on.  I feel that I’m leaving a stronger and better show,” remarked Thusi.

Thusi joined RGB in early 2012 and her career opportunities soon expanded to include being a co-host on SABC1’s Live Amp and earlier in 2013 decided to follow her passion back to acting by landing a role on SA’s long running soap -Isidingo.

“We are definitely sad to see Pearl leave RGB. She is a great talent with many exciting opportunities that lie ahead for her. We and our viewers are going to miss her, but we are continuing to work with her on other projects, so the future is most certainly looking bright,” commented Dichaba Phalatse, SABC1 Portfolio Marketing Manager: Entertainment.

The channel is excited to announce that Sinazo Yolwa and Amanda Du Pont will be joining the RGB team as co-presenters alongside host, Phat Joe Kambule, to provide the show with a wider variety and in-depth interviews. More changes on this lifestyle and entertainment show will be communicated in due time.

In line with SABC1’s stated objectives to remain the number one television and content brand, the channel continues to ensure that viewers are kept entertained and informed via a process of refreshing and revitalizing key shows with the aim of enhancing audience’s television experience.

Pearl will still be seen on RGB until the Saturday 09 November and Sinazo and Amanda will make their very first appearance on the show on Saturday the 16th of November 2013.

RGB airs on SABC1 Mzansi Fo Sho every Saturday at 18h00.
