eNCA is announcing that as from 6AM on Friday, 31 October 2014 the channel will no longer broadcast in the United Kingdom on the SKY Digital Satellite (channel 517).

However viewers will still be able to watch the channel via live streaming on Livestation.com or they can continue to get all the latest news at eNCA.com.

The reasons behind the move are part of the company’s move to realign itself to changes in the way news media is consumed in a digital world.

“We know we have a loyal audience on SKY who will be upset by the decision. We regret that very much. However the reality is that satellite broadcastings is expensive and we have to look at cost effective alternatives such as live streaming” said eNCA’s Managing Director Patrick Conroy.

“Our news content will still be globally accessible just via alternative platforms” he said.

eNCA’s news service can still be viewed by anyone outside of South Africa via www.Livestaton.com. eNCA.com also offers up-to-date information and regular live stream broadcasts of major news events.

eNCA will explore alternative platforms so that viewers are able to easily watch the service on their TVs.
