BET & AFI spotlight African style at BET Experience Africa

General entertainment channel BET (DStv channel 129) and African fashion pioneers AFI have partnered to bring the best of African fashion to the BET Experience Africa (Ticketpro Dome, 12 December).Among the designers whose stunning creations will be sashaying down the catwalk on the BET Experience Africa stage will be NN Vintage (new label of Mafikizolo lead vocalist Nhlanhla Nciza), Loin Cloth & Ashes, Tuelo Nguyuza Collectiv and KL Tsotetsi and Rich Mnisi.  More designers will be announced shortly.

Coming to Africa for the first time in 2015, the BET Experience Africa provides the perfect kick off to the summer season, taking over the Ticketpro Dome for a non-stop, jam-packed entertainment fest, bringing together lovers of urban culture and music. Wowing visitors all day long, the BET Experience Africa will showcase great food, fashion, music, comedy, sport, sneakers and much, much more.Inspiring, immersive and hugely entertaining, BET Experience Africa will feature stunning live performance on an outdoor Festival Stage, while stand-up routines from comedy stars will keep the audience laughing.
Reserve your court-side seat for the fun-packed Celebrity Basketball Game and you could be watching top celebrities battle each other for sporting supremacy! The day will be rounded off with the BET Experience Concert, with superstar artists headlined by GRAMMY Award winning musicians Maxwell, Raphael Saadiq and Tamar Braxton, alongside AKA, Young Thug, Flavour (Nigeria) and Diamond Platinumz(Tanzania).Fashionistas will also be able to check out the hottest trends on the Sneaker scene from sneaker heads Hunting for Kicks.  For inspiration, attend one of BET’s informative and instructiveGenius Talks, curated by experts and opinion formers in various fields including Fikile Mbalula, Minister for Sports & Recreation.

 

BET Experience Africa is promoted in partnership with Glen 21 and inspired by the BET Experience, held annually in Los Angeles.

 

Tickets for the BET Experience Africa are on sale now at www.ticketpro.co.za.  Ticket prices (which include access to the sound stage and other lifestyle activities, plus the concert in the evening) range from R550 on the mezzanine level to R850 (floor standing), R1250 (floor bleachers) and Golden Circle at R1500.
