Lindelani Mkhize Presents Ignite

In celebration of his 50th birthday, music industry pioneer, Lindelani Mkhize is proud to announce his partnership with Joburg Theatre and ATTV Productions for the inaugural musical production titled, “Ignite” – an initiative set to kindle the music industry whilst providing world class entertainment.

 

mkziFollowing two decades of musical achievements, it can be said that Lindelani Mkhize has lived a life that’s been ignited with passion and sheer dedication to his craft; making him a household name in the music fraternity.

 

IGNITE is a two – day state of the art production aimed at showcasing South Africa’s undiscovered or “little known” musical talent across music genres. From Friday, 2 September to Saturday, 3 September, the Mandela @ Joburg Theatre will be abuzz with the musical sounds of South Africa’s hidden melodic talent.

 

“I have always believed that our country is home to an amazing pool of talent and IGNITE is an extension of that belief. I’m so excited that our partners share my sentiment and through this initiative, we hope to ignite talent and promote a culture of unconventional collaborations. We are creating a platform for undiscovered talent”, commented Lindelani Mkhize.

 

Lindelani Mkhize is a man who wears many musical hats; widely known for his extraordinary contribution to the SA music industry, he’s best known as the founder and conductor of South Africa’s successful gospel music ensemble, MTN Joyous Celebration, music producer, record label executive, a judge on South Africa’s popular television music shows such as, ‘I want to sing Gospel’ and ‘Clash of the choirs’ and now – IGNITE.

 

“The three-hour production promises to take music enthusiasts on an unforgettable musical experience and journey rich with colour and flavour coupled with the creative use of the latest technology to enhance the performances which incorporate a six-piece band, brass and a double quartet string section.

Whilst most of the featured talent has been identified by Mkhize, he has left a spot or two open for other hopefuls who will have to try their luck through an online platform.

 

Tickets to the two-day run go on sale on Friday 15 July at a cost of R180 to R400.
