Kelly Khumalo collaborates with the legend- Don Laka

Posted by radio On March - 3 - 2017

The Metro FM saying, “Legends don’t stop, they just ask what’s next”, is a true testament for the newly awarded Best Female Album winner Kelly Khumalo, also known as Her Vocal Highness.

The Uthando hit maker, and legend Don Laka, went into studio this Thursday with great excitement and anticipation of what their long-awaited collaboration will produce. Celebrated around the country and adored for her impressive vocal ability, it is with no surprise that a musical maestro such as Don Laka would invite Kelly Khumalo to grace his latest work of art, as she will bring her vocal prowess and talent onto the track. It is still uncertain what the two are cooking up, but if their first meeting is anything to go by, 2017 is about to be another great musical journey, for all music lovers.

Don Laka who seems to have shied away from media and the spot light over the years, is said to be working on his latest offering and his invitation to Kelly is an indication he’s ready to put the defining notes to his masterpiece. With a string of acclaimed albums Kelly Khumalo is most excited to eventually be working with the legend that is Don Laka and feels honoured to have been chosen to work on such a big project.

Just returning from the Metro FM Awards last weekend, Kelly Khumalo says she is ready to continue making music that her fans will love and be an artist who employs true cultural and African identity in her art form and would love this to translate in this collaboration with Don Laka.

“I’m so excited to be working with a musical legend like Don Laka and I’m honoured to have been chosen for this project. I’m as excited for everyone to hear the final product of our collaboration. Fans are gonna love it!”

As Kelly makes 2017 her year, such collaborations are just a peek into the songstress’ plans. With her album My Truth still getting great reviews it is with no doubt that Kelly Khumalo continues to have a rising star.
