Posted by radio On June - 13 - 2017

SABC will commemorate the 41th anniversary of the Soweto Uprising now known as June 16, National Youth Day. The uprisings tragically ended with hundreds of young people killed by the apartheid government when they protested against the imposition of Afrikaans as a medium of instruction.

In commemoration of Youth month, SABC 1, Mzansi’s leading youth TV channel, is excited to announce an amazing opportunity for Mzansi’s aspiring youth.

The channel will host a symposium for aspiring youth to provide them a platform to discuss their issues ‘head on’ and come up with solutions on how to improve the lives of the youth in Mzansi.

SABC 1’s Youth Day symposium themed, Own Your Space, is looking for 25 young people between the ages of 16 and 20 to win a chance to be part of an interactive audience on the set of youth talk show, Daily Thetha. A number of Mzansi’s leading trailblazers in different fields from broadcasting to business will be in attendance to inspire and encourage them to aim for the sky and fulfil their dreams. The winner will also get a chance to bring a friend as their partner to the symposium.
