SABC Radio to celebrate Mandela Day

Posted by radio On July - 10 - 2017

SABC will celebrate Madiba Month under the theme, “Do Your Bit Of Good in Honour Of Madiba”.  Part of the SABC’s responsibilities as the national broadcaster is to maintain our country’s history and heritage, through the celebration of days/events of national importance.  A big part of the history and heritage is the legacy of the late great Nelson Mandela. To such an extent that his birth month, July, has become known for the month in which people honour his legacy by doing good.

The SABC therefore has a responsibility to preserve his legacy as a fundamental part of this country’s history, and also encourage doing good by all citizens in honour of Madiba.

In preserving and honouring Mandela’s Legacy, Lesedi FM in partnership with SABC2 has for the past twelve months built and renovated a science laboratory in Soweto at a school called Diepdale Secondary School.  Lesedi FM will official handover  the science laboratory on the 26th of July.
