Fun-filled kids zone at DStv Delicious Fest

Posted by radio On September - 7 - 2017

There’s lots to amuse the little ones at this year’s DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival, brought to you by Liberty. Awesome activities have been lined up to entertain the kiddies all day long at the festival Kids Zone while parents enjoy the mega array of food and music on offer. There will be educational games, exciting character interactions, mini gymnastics, gaming, augmented reality and so much more.

With DStv bringing entertainment from Cartoon Network and Boomerang, the fun-filled ‘Kids Zone’ will engage and enthral children between the ages of 3 and 13 in a multitude of ways.

Some of Cartoon Network’s favourite characters will keep them occupied in a flurry of activities. A Ben 10 augmented reality (AR) experience will enable kids to transform into their favourite Ben 10 alien: Heatblast, who throws fireballs; Diamondhead, who throws crystal shards; Four Arms, who creates shock waves; or Overflow, who shoots water.

There is also the Ben 10 race, a designated area for kids to frolic about on balancing beams, monkey bars and ball pits. There will also be sack races so the kids can battle against each other and put their Ben 10 alien skills to the test.

‘PPG Yourself’ stations will keep the little ones amused for ages as they have the chance to turn themselves into their very own Powerpuff Girl. It will allow them to customise their look and style to create a Powerpuff Girl ‘mini-me’. What’s more is that you can get your image printed on-site to take home.

A screening area will play movies and your favourite Cartoon Network shows throughout the day. They will even get the chance to be one of the first to see the premiere of new ‘special’ episodes of the Powerpuff Girls which introduces the newest Powerpuff Girl voiced by Toya de Lazy.

Imagination Studio’s will have the kids busy for hours, exploring their artistic talents by drawing, colouring and creating their very own animated characters.

Then there is Boomerang’s Mini-Zoo, with an animal themed “what’s in the box”. An interactive experience that allows children to engage with Boomerang and learn all about animals through tactile, sight and sound experiences.

Bounce KinderGym is a gymnastics programme supervised by trained Bounce KinderGym coaches and will be available for 3 to 5-year olds, strictly. The specifically designed programme harnesses the unique fun and health benefits of trampolining and is proven to help children build self-expression and confidence.

In yet more fun, children will be able to enjoy the Strider Adventure Zone or bike obstacle track. Strider Adventure Zones are safe and friendly environments that encourage kids up to 5 years old to test ride a Strider and play with other kids, while improving and developing fundamental bike handling skills.

The entertainment doesn’t end there. Two PlayStation trailers, giant inflatables, a fun food bar for hungry adventurers, a 12-metre climbing wall and a Baby and Toddler Zone.

The Kids Zone is a secured, access controlled area to give parents peace of mind.

And don’t forget the awesome international and local talent the DStv Delicious Festival has secured for the two days, from hip-hop recording artist Common,  Imagination feat. Leee John and British soul singer, Omar, to American born, R&B musician, Alexander O’Neal, Nigerian award-winning world music artist, Femi Kuti and last but not least British dance/R&B band Soul II Soul. Some of South Africa’s incredibly talented local musicians to grace the festival stage include Hugh MasekelaThandiswa MazwaiTKZeeBongo Maffin and Black Coffee live with band.
