See Terry Phetho and other local stars in Madiba

Discovery is bringing you a six-part drama series Madiba with a stellar cast.

Madiba focuses on the revolution created by Nelson Mandela to fight for the freedom and equality of all South Africans, despite the efforts of those in power to maintain longstanding separation and discrimination in the country.

Watch it on Monday 6 November ay 21:00 on Discovery.

 

The series will see Laurence Fishburne as Nelson Mandela and Orlando Jones as Oliver Tambo.

Here are some of the local cast who are also in Madiba. Look out for their interviews coming soon to DStv.com.

Terry Phetho as Winnie Mandela. We all know this amazing award-winning beauty. From the likes of Tsotsi, Bold and The Beautiful to A United Kingdom. She also won Best Actress TV/Drama 2017 for the Madiba miniseries at the International Achievement Recognition Awards (IARA AWARDS) earlier this year.

 

Hlomla Dandala plays Govan Mbeki. He’s played Oliver Tambo in Winnie, was also in Happiness Is a Four Letter Word, Contract and Land of Thirst amongst many others.

Kate Liquorish as Ruth First. She’s been on Catching Feelings, Eye in the Sky amd The Bantu Hour.

Meren Reddy as Ahmed Kathrada. You may have seen him in Mr Bones 2, Invictus, Homeland and Lullaby amongst others.

 

Lerato Mvelase as Albertina Sisulu. She’s been on Saints and Sinners S3, The Road, and currently on Isibaya (Weekdays at 20:30 on Mzansi Magic, also available on DStv Now) as Lt Samkelo Mkhize.

 

Thishiwe Ziqubu as Evelyn Mandela. You can watch Thishiwe on The Imposter Sundays at 20:00 on Mzansi Magic. Also available on DStv Now.  She’s also been on It’s Complicated, Hard To get and Tell Me Sweet Something amongst others.
