The SAEInstitute in Cape Town is South Africa’s internationally accredited tertiaryinstitution and is proud to announce its latest scholarship opportunity forSouth Africans interested in learning Film Production at a state-of-the-artcampus in the heart of Cape Town at the renowned Woodstock Exchange.

The Hlubi Mboya Arnold Sunshine Cinema Scholarship will cover the full tuitionfees for SAE’s full-time Higher Certificate in Film Production at the SAEInstitute in Woodstock, Cape Town.

 

Hlubi is an award winning film and television actress, social justiceand civil rights activist, sponsored athlete, educator scholar and socialentrepreneur.  Hlubi, alongsideGareth Armstrong also produces Future CEO’s on CliffCentral assisting young,ambitious, up and coming, high-potential entrepreneurs and executives to growtheir businesses and fast-track their careers. Sunshine Cinema is a solar powered mobile cinema thatconverts solar energy into social impact.

 

To launch the scholarship, SAE and Hlubi, in partnership with SunshineCinemas, will be presenting a FREE evening master classes on November 23rdat the Woodstock SAE Campus. This master class will provide the idealopportunity for to learn new skills, pick up important tips and network withlike-minded individuals.

 

 

This impact focused Storytelling master class will cover the followingtopics:

  • Education for empowerment
  • Women & the SA entertainment industry
  • Storytelling & media advocacy
  • Alternative distribution

 

Sunshine Cinema is a solar powered mobile cinema that converts solarenergy into social impact. We take compelling and carefully curated content toa diverse array of communities across Southern Africa and beyond.

Sunshine Cinema’s Sydelle Willow Smith explains further, “We are drivenby a strong desire to create communal cinema experiences that act as a catalystfor dialogue, deep listening and ultimately positive social and environmentalchange. Sunshine Cinema isn’t just a mobile movie theater. Thisscholarship is just the latest to be announced, with other scholarshippartnerships between SAE and well-known industry names including Ready D, AKA,Skrilllex and Black Coffee.

 

The scholarship is open to all South African citizens and all candidatesmust hold a Grade 12 certificate. The scholarship is only valid for the July2018 study intake. Candidates will be responsible for all living and travelexpenses should they come from outside of Cape Town.

 

In order to apply for the scholarship, candidates must complete the applicationform, SAE will then send you a follow up e-mail detailing the next steps tocomplete your application.
