NikNaks embraces street culture at 4D Experience Launch

Posted by radio On September - 25 - 2018

Giving back the love received over its 46-year span, NikNaks held a Street Conference at the University of Johannesburg, Soweto Campus, where it launched Mzansi’s first of its kind 4D Experience, celebrating all things street and urban culture.

The conference, held under the slogan, #LovedByTheStreets, was hosted by MTV Base’s VJ, Tshego Koke, songstress, Moonchild Sanelly, DJ Sabby, rapper Kay-E and NikNaks Brand Activation Manager, Sikelela Finini as panelists, lending their voices as the new school of street culture.

Finini said NikNaks had always been at the forefront of shaping movements, embracing and ushering a new generation of trendsetters who use street art to express their individuality.

“The aim of the conference goes beyond simply applauding NikNaks for having been around for so long. It also serves the purpose of celebrating the dynamism and vibrancy of street culture. From dance, fashion, skateboarding, to gqom and [graffiti] tagging, we are saying NikNaks recognises the energy of the streets along with the power street culture has in being a catalyst for change in both past and current generations,” Finini said.

The 4D Experience which left the audience in awe, is a true reflection of Mzansi’s urban cultural landscape, Finini said, espousing elements of dance, BMXing, and games such as “fish” and “three tin”, township versions of high jump and cricket, respectively.

The NikNaks 4D Experience kicked off on Wednesday, 19 September at the University of Johannesburg’s Soweto Campus and will run until October 20 nationally, hitting up three other cities around Mzansi.

Other locations expected to experience the relish are Maponya Mall, on September 21 and 22, 2018 in Gauteng; UKZN Westville Campus, on September 25 and 26, 2018 and Bridge City in Kwamashu, on September 28 and 29, 2018. Hitting up the Bay, students at NMMU on October 9 and 10, 2018 can join the fun. The yellow chambers will then make an appearance on October 12 and 13, 2018 at the Kenako Shopping Centre in the Eastern Cape. Swinging into CPUT Bellville Campus, students can experience the marvel on October 16 and 19, 2018. The 4D Experience finale will be held at the N1 City Shopping Mall in Goodwood, Western Cape on October 19 and 20, 2018.

“To participate in the NikNaks 4D Experience, all that’s needed is to purchase any two packets of NikNaks and bring them to the yellow NikNaks Experience on your campus or at your local malls,” Finini concludes.
